Spring ‘26 in the Meadows
The optimistic sense of Spring and feeling of new beginnings was strong this year, with lots of new life welcomed onto the farm. The start of March brought the start of lambing and a few sleepless nights, and our Dorsets and Black Welsh Mountains were very kind and caring as mothers.
Then came calves, whose mothers luckily don’t need as much help with the birthing process. Our herd grew by …and the newborns attracted some attention in the courtyard of the farm.
In April, Rosy the Tamworth pig gave birth to a large litter of 9. One of the piglets, named little Frank Tamworth, couldn’t suckle, so was rescued by Rich and brought into the house to be raised as part of the family. Whilst Anna has been feeding him every 2 hours, the kids Wilbur and Llio have been making him dens to play in, and he’s captured everyone’s hearts on the farm.
